As a (current) teacher, I am WELL aware that the final days of school are upon us. Final projects, extra credit, exams…. the last few grades to enter into my gradebook.
As assignments are turned in, students’ grades teeter back and forth… from A’s to B’s, or in more dire circumstances, from passing to failing.
At the beginning of the school year, I remember returning the first test to the students so they could see their scores. On more than one occasion, a student shouted in excitement,
“YES! A 70%! That’s passing!”
(Probably every teacher has heard that line…)
I encouraged those students to aim higher (preferably 100%)…a seventy was cutting it pretty darn close! Now that it’s May, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who started setting their goals higher.
As for our preparation for Kenya, we are 70% funded.
Like my students, let’s take a moment to celebrate, because that’s awesome!!!!! We are so grateful for God’s provision and the obedience of his followers who He has called to partner with our ministry.
…but we don’t stop there. We have our goal set on being supported 100%!
We know that we serve a God that doesn’t just settle for passing….he IS perfection. We trust that He is orchestrating a way to provide for us 100% of what we need to do ministry in Kenya effectively.
We are in the process of connecting with friends and family about supporting us. If you feel led to do so, click here for directions on how to support online or by mail.
If you’re in the Rome/Atlanta/Chattanooga areas, we would also love to spend time with you in person, to share more about our ministry and to connect with you before we leave for Kenya in August!
